Finnish local food – The best flavors of nature

​The Calliola world of food and flavours is dictated by the four seasons and nature’s produce. Our menus, which are designed by our top professionals, consist of nature’s and local producers’ ingredients. They are prepared without any middle-men, always fresh, directly onto the customer’s plate.
The game and mushrooms in our kitchen come from the surrounding forests, fish from the nearby waters, and lamb from the nearby organic farm Bovik. We bake the bread ourselves from local flour, and even the honey we use comes from our neighbour’s apiary.

Together with local producers

Good relations with the local people and with the small producers in the surrounding area guarantee high-quality ingredients. The Calliola menu is designed by taking advantage of seasonal products. In actual fact, the menu forms a frame inside which the content varies on a daily basis. If the catch of the day has been perch, the fish will find their way to the lunch table via the kitchen. When making a table reservation, a customer can choose the main food ingredient, and it will be prepared with the available accompaniments.
Local food and genuine flavours, combined with innovative creation are, indeed, the foundation of the Calliola kitchen. Before, people used to talk about home-cooked food. Now, the talk of the town, is local or seasonal food: essentially, they are one and the same. Game and fresh fish can also often be seen on the Calliola menu.

Opening hours and table reservations

Restaurant Calliola is open Monday through Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm for guests, and upon request for groups (minimum of 8 pax). Please book your reservation as you book your stay, or at least two days in advance. If you are not staying in Calliola, and you would like to come and enjoy the local food with a smaller party, you can check the restaurant’s opening hours by calling our customer service.

Surprise menu from local ingredients

We serve four-course surprise menus made by our chef from local ingredients in our restaurant. Our restaurant specializes in game and fish dishes. All Calliola menus can be combined with drinks from our extensive drink and wine selection. We take allergies and special diets into consideration, and we use lactose-free products.

Calliola kitchen Philosophy

We make food using ingredients from the area. We cook food that we are passionate about and that we want to eat in our own homes. We are in the county and seaside, so we want food that is humble and rustic but made with extreme care. Everything is made by hand.
